Qingdao Eighth People's Hospital was founded in 1951. It covers an area of 58,000 square meters with a building area of 76,000 square meters. It is a designated hospital for foreign-related hospitals in Qingdao, "Model Baby-Friendly Hospital"". It is also known as the collaborative hospital of Peking University First Hospital, the teaching hospital of Qingdao University Medical College and Jining Medical College, and the Qingdao Institute of Cardiothoracic Surgery, and in 2005, it was recognized as the medical group of the eight medical doctors, and in October 2006, it was promoted to be the tertiary hospital of Qingdao City.
